Towards Gender Justice: Rethinking EU gender policy from an intersectional perspective
#GenderJustice
This report analyses how EU gender equality policy for relies on a restrictive binary framework, which excludes and harms those outside narrow norms of gender, race, class, and ability. It argues that true justice requires a fundamental shift toward intersectionality, centering the most marginalised, including racialised, migrant, disabled, trans, and non-binary people. Moving beyond simply promoting “equal opportunity,” the analysis calls for policies that tackle root causes of discrimination to achieve transformative justice, not just superficial equality.
