Equinox is looking for Board members to support with finance and organisational development.
Join us! Deadline - 10th April 2026, 17.00 CET
Equinox Initiative for Racial Justice is a queer, feminist, racial justice organisation working toward societies of care, protection and social provision. Since 2021, we’ve grown from a small advocacy project into an independent organisation building coalitions, influencing EU policy, and connecting struggles for racial and social justice across Europe and beyond.
Our work spans three pillars: advocating for societies of care over control (dismantling securitisation and militarisation); advancing gender justice and intersectional feminism; and linking racial justice in Europe to global struggles for economic, environmental and anti-imperialist justice.
We’re a team of 6, supported by a steering group of 15 activists from across Europe. We’re growing, and there’s so much we want to do!
As Equinox continues to grow and deepen its impact, we’re building out our governance board. We are a young organisation and we are excited about the intentional growth that we are embarking on. We’re looking for people who want to hold this organisation with us — not from a distance, but with genuine investment in our vision, our communities, and our collective future.
This isn’t a ceremonial role. We want board members who are curious, engaged, and ready to contribute their expertise in a way that’s grounded in solidarity and care.
We need two people to join the board – someone to work on organisational development and another to be responsible for fundraising strategy and financial oversight.
First and foremost, we’re looking for people who get it — the work, the politics, and the communities we organise with. Beyond that, we’re looking for people who bring:
Board members provide strategic oversight and governance support to Equinox’s Director and staff team, and are responsible for signing off on the accounts and budgets of the organisation. Given our size, this also means being a genuine thought partner — someone our team can lean on.
The mandate is for two years, and we envisage a minimum of 4 hours of work per month, inclusive of 4 board meetings per year, on a quarterly basis. We envisage one in-person board meeting a year so some travel will be involved.
We want everyone to be able to apply for this role, so depending on personal circumstances, it is possible to receive a small stipend for your work on the Equinox board.
We’d love to hear from you — or from someone you think we should know. Please fill out this application form and attach your CV by April 10 2026 at 17.00 CET.
